Why we do this.
We specialize in termination of employment as a service because we recognize and acknowledge that we’re changing the course of someone’s life when they are fired from a job.
Regardless of the circumstance, its important to do what’s right - not what’s easy, and that’s what we do best.
We all do better when someone has our back, and as a business owner or people manager, enlisting the help of neutral, third-party experts can ensure the delivery of this difficult news is done in a way that doesn’t expose you or your organization to unnecessary risk.

Our process.
It all begins with a conversation. We start by discussing the circumstances surrounding the departure decision and then we work together with you to consider the risks, thoroughly prepare, and carry out the termination meeting together.
With an approach rooted in kindness and compliance, our team of HR, IT and legal professionals have over two decades each of experience administering involuntary terminations with discretion and care.
We’ve structured our exit process to give you peace of mind and to guide the employee’s departure from your organization in a way that’s secure, compliant, and respectful.

We already have IT...
Secure Departures doesn’t replace internal IT or managed service providers; we offer specialized expertise in involuntary terminations through the orchestration of coordinated actions in the business computing environment, precisely timed to align with the moment HR initiates the termination meeting.
Many organizations assume their internal or managed IT provider can fully address security concerns during involuntary terminations. While they’re crucial for system maintenance and technical support, they lack the precision, timing, human context, and legal sensitivity needed to manage high-risk employee exits effectively.

How much does it cost?
Bearing in mind that two termination situations are alike, our services typically range from $2,600 to $4,800.
Factors impacting the cost: time/travel to attend onsite terminations outside of Calgary or Edmonton, complicated legal matters, and excessive time in meetings to support the business, the process, or the departed employee.
